The meeting
I had an amazing meeting with my Sunday Night Success group this past weekend, and, after finishing with our weekly goal setting, we had a long conversation about what we do and the process we follow. From this discussion we all realized that there had been a shift in what we were doing over the past few months, and that our process and purpose has really changed.
We don’t set goals, we set actions
It has become clear to us, as we look over our plans for each week, what is truly working for us isn’t the goal setting, it is the action setting. Each of us has a number of goals that we are working on. These goals are the bigger concepts of what we are trying to achieve, but each week we are not working on these larger goals, what we are working on are the smaller steps that are required to realize these goals as realities. What we are doing each Sunday night is setting out our weekly actions that will help us to accomplish our end goals, and, eventually, our overall visions.
Goal setting becomes action setting
This all leads to the first evolution of both Sunday Night Success the process, and Sunday Night Success the blog. Monday Night Goal Setting will now become Monday Night Action Setting to better reflect the process that we are undergoing, the process that has resulted in all three of us making huge changes for the better in our lives. The name change may seem trivial, but, for us, it really defines what we believe works and will help us to clarify for ourselves, and hopefully you, why it works.
Ideas and goals are great. Actions are better.
Love it! Set Actions! I’m going to start doing this myself!
Karen keep me updated on how it works for you, and how you adapt the idea to work for you.
